Robert M. Boyd, 88, of Pullman and Wellton, Ariz., passed away while sleeping peacefully Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, in Tacoma, after a long battle with several medical issues.
Robert, fondly known as Bob to many, was born to Merrill and Betty Boyd on July 2, 1935, in Pullman, and grew up there. Robert attended Pullman High School.
In 1953 Robert married his lifelong sweetheart Louise Vivian Berry who preceded him in death in 1998. Robert and family left Pullman for a brief number of years only to return home to his passion for farming. Robert would eventually succeed his father as head of the family farm, E. Merrill Boyd Farms.
Robert was a member of many fraternal organizations including Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Fraternal Order of Moose, National Rifle Association, AmVets and more.
Robert is survived by his second wife Donna, his children, Robert Jr. and wife Laurie (Caleb, Elizabeth, Micah and Carolyn); William (daughter Stephanie); David and wife Jacqueline (Jeremy and Kimberly). He is also survived by his sister Marcia McGee, and many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held this fall in Pullman. Details will be published in this newspaper in the coming weeks.
