Russell H. Smith, 72, of Grangeville, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Russ was born to Mildred and Howard Smith on April 10, 1951. He was an outdoor enthusiast that enjoyed camping, trail riding and shooting sports.
After high school he joined the U.S. Navy. Following his honorable discharge, Russ began to build his family with his wife, and they had two sons.
He spent many years working at the local telephone company. He went on to start and build a successful telephone company in Boise that serviced the Northwestern states.
Russ is survived by his two sons, Benjamin and Matthew. He is also survived by his mother, Mildred and sister, Kelleen.
Russ was a loving father. He was a generous and pure-hearted Godly man who loved the Lord; he was passionate about sharing his love of the Lord with everyone around him. He always jumped at the chance to help anyone in need.

Russ’ family will host a funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Calvary Chapel of Grangeville, 517 W. North St., Grangeville.
