Sue Davis Mitchell passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, in Moscow, at 82 years old. Sue was born on Oct. 7, 1941, on a farm near Tyronza, Ark., to George Wesley Davis and Lela Croxton Davis.
She attended grade school in Brooklin, Ark., and high school in Chicago and worked for Western Electric Company in Chicago where she met the love of her life, Bill Mitchell. They were married Nov. 5, 1960, at Jordan Baptist Church in Oak Lawn, Ill.
She was a nurse in both Washington and Idaho. Her education included an LPN from Green River College, RN from Highline Community College and a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from the University of Washington.
Her profession over the years was in data processing and medical services, finally retiring from Gritman Medical Center as a Med/Surge Nurse. Interests and hobbies included family activities, hiking, camping and making many quilts for family members.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; two sons Billy and Bob; daughter Susan Tippett; eight grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and four great-grandsons.
Sue was a member of the Deary Community Bible Church for many years, and upon moving to Moscow, attended the Moscow Bible Church.
A celebration of life service will occur at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at the Deary Community Bible Church.
