Keep it up, Courtney

I see Dale Courtney continues to self identify as a political independent, but I have to wonder when was the last time he voted for anyone not of the Republican Party. And when has he ever criticized the Trump or Vance? His words belie his claim.

Consider the last opinion piece he published (Nov. 5, Daily News). He expresses his own skepticism as fact. The Steele dossier has not been disproved; nor has the Russian collusion with Trump been disproved. We all know Mr. Courtney has been skeptical of social distancing, masking and vaccines, but he cannot prove they did not help to reduce the effects of the pandemic. Dale, it is pretty hard to be skeptical of the report of Trump wondering if drinking bleach will help prevent COVID-19 when one actually saw the live video of him raising the question.

And, of course, the incident on Capital Hill was a love fest, never mind the shots of the participants breaking through windows, or of the gallows they put up for Mike Pence. Then there was Officer Brian D. Sicknick of the Capitol Police, who was attacked by the mob, dying on Jan. 7. Initial reports said he died because of the mob attack, but later the medical examiner said he died from a series of strokes, likely triggered by the attack. In the age of instant news reporting, it is not all that unusual to get some claims wrong, but usually as new information comes out, mainstream media will publish corrections as they become known. Certain other media sources tend to skip that step.

Keep it up, Dale, you give me a good excuse to write a Letter to the Editor on a rainy day.
