A pheasant sits on "his favorite wild rose bush," wrote phtogrpaher Laurel Parnell, who snapped this image near Lapwai, Idaho, on Jan. 31. "He and other members of his group are frequent visitors to the bush in order to feed on the rose hips during the winter," Parnell wrote. "Typically, the pheasants visit the bush in gender groups taking turns — the ladies followed by the gents later in the day or vice versa."
