A biker who had been missing since Sunday in Idaho County has been found alive.
Idaho County Dispatch received a call from the International Emergency Response Coordination Center at 1:42 p.m. Friday. The dispatch had received an SOS call from a Garmin inReach device. While the first message didn’t state if there was an emergency, the second advised that the missing biker, Zachary DeMoss, was found alive but in bad shape, according to a news release from the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.
The coordinates on the device were in the Lost Creek Campground on U.S. Highway 12. Idaho County Dispatch sent Kooskia Ambulance, Lowell Quick Response Unit, LifeFlight as well as a deputy from the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office and Idaho State Police. When first responders arrived DeMoss was found alert and conscious. He had been drinking water out of the creek, according to the news release
DeMoss was taken by LifeFlight to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.
Idaho County Sheriff Doug Ulmer thanked those who helped search for DeMoss.
“We wish him the best in his recovery,” the news release stated.
