One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash on State Route 129 between Clarkston and Asotin early Tuesday morning.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a red Honda Civic crossed the centerline near Critchfield Road and collided with a Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by Hayden Deeds, 25, of Lewiston. He has been taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

The driver of the Honda has died, and the name will be released pending notification of next of kin. The Honda was headed toward Clarkston, and the SUV was going south toward Asotin. The wreck happened just before 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Traffic was detoured for several hours. More information will be available today.
