COLTON — A Pullman man died in a rollover crash near Colton on Monday night.

Whitman County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a fatal single-vehicle crash on Wawawai Pullman Road around 11:30 p.m. Monday. Law enforcement determined 25-year-old Casey St. Clair died at the scene, according to a news release distributed Tuesday by the sheriff’s office.

St. Clair had failed to negotiate a curve in the road and lost control of his 2004 Ford F-250 pickup truck. The car left the roadway and rolled several times before coming to a stop in an adjacent field. Deputies deduced he had not been wearing a seat belt during the incident and was ejected from the vehicle, according to the news release.

Speed and alcohol are believed to have been a contributing factor, according to the news release.

Deputies were assisted by Washington State Patrol, Whitman County Fire District 12 and 14 and Lewiston Fire Department, according to the news release.
