The Pullman man found dead in Sunnyside Park this morning has been identified as Scott Stratton, 51, who appears on the Washington State University website as an instructor in the history department.
Stratton's family reported him missing Tuesday night a couple hours after his dog came home from a walk without him.
Stratton's body was found by police at about 6:30 a.m. floating in the pond at Sunnyside Park.
The Whitman County Coroner has tentatively ruled the death as accidental and police said there is no evidence or suspicion of foul play.
Family reported the man did have a history of medical issues, but until an autopsy has been performed the actual cause of death will remain undetermined.
