The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a possibly armed man who allegedly robbed a marijuana retail store this morning on State Route 270.

According to Sheriff Brett Myers, a suspicious person was reported crossing Paradise Creek and heading toward Bud Hut around 9:10 a.m.

About 15 minutes later, a Bud Hut employee reported a man with a similar description pointed what appeared to be a handgun at him and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man allegedly stole the employee’s car — a Chevy Blazer — which was later found parked on Sunshine Road.

The vehicle was unoccupied. Myers said the robber may have gotten into another vehicle and left.

The man was reportedly wearing a hoodie that was used to hide his face.
