Moscow man accidentally shoots himself in leg while disassembling gun

A man accidentally shot himself in the leg while disassembling his gun Thursday afternoon in Moscow.

Police said the man’s roommates confirmed the weapon was discharged accidentally while he was taking it apart for cleaning around 5:30 p.m. The man was taken to Gritman Medical Center with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Moscow Police said it is important to ensure a gun is cleared of live rounds before it is safe to be disassembled or cleaned.
