It is always an excellent idea to "highlight civility in politics," especially in today's polarized Congress ("Foley documentary could highlight in civility in politics," March 19).

When both parties work together to make a difference in our world, it should be front page news. This is true with the Reach Every Mother and Child Act: a bipartisan initiative to help end the preventable deaths of millions of mothers and children in our world.

Nearly 150 cosponsors from both parties agree that legislation making our work saving lives more efficient is worth passing. The majority of Washington state's congressional delegation, including Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, is part of this important push to save lives around the world. Thank those who represent us for cosponsoring this bill to encourage this kind of work. At the same time, we can ask them to make sure this bill passes.
